And at the Science Market, pay a visit to the stand of Klaas Hennepoel’s Shipyard. The shipyard specialises in traditional wooden shipbuilding techniques, applying these to, among other things, the replenishment of Roman Zwammerdam ships and to the restoration and reconstruction of traditional Dutch ships from the 17th-19th centuries (including the reconstruction of a clinker-built ‘boeijer’ and a ‘Veense boot’). They work with replicas of originally found tools.
