'E-RIHS can provide the much-needed bridge between two types of questions about cultural heritage: why is it important, what is its value?
But also: what is it actually, how is it made, and how do we preserve it well? E-RIHS connects specialists, databases, and tools for this purpose. In this way, we give heritage research the unique place it deserves.’
Jan van 't Hof is a member of the interim board of E-RIHS.EU. Together with Dr. Robert Verhoogt, he forms the delegation on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
Jan van't Hof is trained as an art historian. He published on a number of topics such as natural stone, monasteries and controversial heritage in the period from 1800 onwards.
He was a board member of international projects such as the Joint Programming Initiative Cultural Heritage, IPERION Cultural Heritage and IPERION Heritage Science. At the RCE, he was, among other things, head of region, head of the laboratory, and head of Monuments and Collections.
