Physical inspection of buildings; monitoring durability and conservation

OBJECTIVE to connect scientists with professional heritage conservation organisations to improve physical building inspections

How sustainable are building restorations? What is the lifespan of the materials used? There is a need for a monitoring system based on data collected in the field. To support the development of such a system, a study is needed to explore the development of models for the ‘behaviour’ of materials after restoration to gain insight into the long-term effectiveness of sustainability and conservation efforts. AI could play a role in this. The study will bring parties together, make monuments accessible to researchers, and help put questions from the field on the agenda at relevant scientific institutions.
