Natural stone collections
RCE, TU Delft & TNO
Reference collections are an important tool for learning more about a material or object. As an expert you must be able to fall back on a reference collection, and accessibility is a prerequisite for this. This has been the case for natural stone for some time: the collections of TU Delft and the RCE are available online. This concerns many hundreds of stone types that can be consulted in an organized and searchable manner.
To get this off the ground, TU Delft, TNO and the RCE worked together. The basis for this was the MonumentenKennis collaboration. Many of the types of natural stone used in the Netherlands can be found in this digital collection.
