Benjamin Rous
Benjamin Rous (1979) studied Mediterranean Archeology at the University of Amsterdam. He received his PhD from the same university in 2010 for research into the monumentalization of sanctuaries in the region around Rome in the second and first centuries BC. After his PhD, he worked as a policy officer at the Research Department of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Amsterdam, where he was involved in project management and research policy development. He subsequently served as coordinator of the post-master phase of the UvA's Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage course.
He is currently coordinator of the Netherlands Institute for Conservation+Art+Science+ (NICAS). In close collaboration with universities, museums and heritage institutions, he and the Chair are responsible for drawing up and implementing research strategies, initiating and monitoring joint research projects, maintaining and expanding the national and international research network, and organizing outreach events. courses and lectures.
